Feedback for NCVO Funding Commission Meeting

CDX Chief Executive Nick Beddow will be attending a consultation meeting with NCVO Funding Commission on 9 September to give feedback on their draft findings and recommendations on the state of Public Sector Funding, which include:
- Government funding of charities has increased year on year, from £8.4 billion in 2000/01 to £12.8 billion in 2007/08.
- As a proportion of all income to the sector it now accounts for just over one third (36%).
- Some 40,000 charities have a financial relationship with the public sector, but it is still the case that most charities (75%) have no direct financial relationship with the state.
We'd really like some input from CDX members to feed in to the consultation. NCVO is very keen to ensure that the Commission’s report understands and responds to the concerns of the sector and will be exploring their findings and emerging recommendations at the meeting.
