Developing the Big Society in the North
Tuesday 13th July 2010, 14:07
A new forum has been launched to look at developing and discussing the government's Big Society agenda across the North of England.
The idea for the forum was first floated by Julian Dobson of New Start Magazine, who explained the need for a Northern forum because "the Big Society isn't anyone's copyright or trademark. It is what we make of it. And we want to make something of it that isn't dependent on or answerable to London government or London networks, but can engage in a dialogue of equals".

The forum has launched an online network which anyone can join and contribute to discussions.
A informal planning event is being held in Sheffield on 27 July 2010 - come along if you are interested in being involved developing and shaping the Big Society in the North.
CDX are supporting the development of the Big Society in the North forum and are interested and excited to see where it will lead. If you would like more information about the Big Society in the North forum or would like our support in setting up a similar forum in your own region, please contact Sophie Ballinger.
