How you can get involved

Community Champions

One of the elements of the EAC programme is to recruit local activists as ‘Community Champions’. The EAC Community Champions will receive free, accredited, training from BTCV and will then be asked to visit other groups, clubs and societies in their community to ‘spread the word’ about EAC. They will work with the groups to help them draw up a simple action plan for small changes they can make to help do their bit for sustainable development. It could also provide useful publicity for their own community group, or the groups they visit!

If you know someone who would be interested in such an opportunity please contact Tess on 0114 241 2740 or email
tess@cdx.org.uk who will send you a registration form that needs to be completed by all potential Community Champions.

After registration - please visit BTCV's site to find out more about what happens after you have registered as a Community Champion and see when the next free accredited training is taking place near you.

Register your community group
You can register your community group with Every Action Counts to receive access to online toolkits and other resources; evaluate how future-friendly your group currently is; log actions your group takes to become more sustainable; and track your progress. To register your group please visit:
www.everyactioncounts.org.uk - remember to mention CDX.

What about training for community workers?

For practising community workers, EAC offers free training and taster packs in how to include the sustainable development message in your community development work. This training is being provided by the Federation for Community Development Learning, and you can find out more details of what’s on offer at www.fcdl.org.uk
