IT Vol
provides individuals of all ages the chance to develop skills and confidence in
using computers from a beginners level upwards. The course involves
participants working towards the accredited qualification PC Passport, and
allows individuals to learn skills a variety of different areas including word
processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations and more. Starting 15
July 2008
SPORTING
CHANCE
Sporting
Chance gives young people an opportunity to develop skills in sports leadership
by working towards the accredited Community Sports Leaders Award. The course
also includes the chance to develop skills in first aid, child protection, and
offers the opportunity to undertake a volunteering placement in a sport of
their choice. This course is a must for those considering a future in sport and
wishing to develop sports coaching skills. Starting 16 July 2008
Vocational
Volunteering Venture is a unique course that provides participants with a
variety of tasters in a range of practical and vocational skills, including
traditional trades such as joinery, gardening, brickwork and many others.
Participants are provided with a relevant volunteering placement to improve
skills, and one-to-one support to support into further education or work. Starting

Active
citizenship is a hot topic in today’s society, and the ACWA programme brings
this subject to the fore by allowing local citizens to learn about and discuss
politics, democracy, social exclusion, and rights and responsibilities at a
local, national and European level. Participants will have the opportunity to
visit the Scottish Parliament and meet with some elected members. Start date
to be finalised
