Localism... Organising for Success: A FREE One –Day Regional Conference held in Lancashire
With radical policy shifts included within the De-Centralisation and Localism Bill, Sustainable Communities Act, and new Local Government flexibilities, it’s never been as important that small grass roots Neighbourhood Groups / local residents are supported to get themselves organised enabling them to co-ordinate their voluntary efforts to benefit their whole community.
Speakers include:
- Dr Bert Provan (Communities and Local Government)
- Neil Smith (Cabinet Office –Office for Civil Society)
- Maxine Moar (Home Office)
- Bill Kerry (Co-Founder The Equality Trust)
- Chairing : Jimmy Devlin (Chair NWTRA)
Come along and hear first hand how Community Organisers will be expected to catalyse local activity encouraging self determination for neighbourhoods through responsible volunteering and small community based representative residents group influencing / delivering local services wherever possible. How will this work be developed?
Come and discuss what new Planning powers Neighbourhoods will soon be able to use to the benefit of their community once the Localism Bill gains Royal Assent.
