CDX Structure
CDX is an autonomous membership organisation run for and by members.
We receive the majority of our funding from the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) in the Cabinet Office.
The structure of CDX is laid out below, with profiles of committee members found towards the bottom of the page or by clicking on the links within the text. Staff profiles can be viewed by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
In 2000, the organisation became a limited company and registered charity, replacing the Executive Committee structure with a Board of Trustees. The Board - a group of diverse volunteers from within the membership - is responsible for the overall management of CDX, including planning of objectives, budgeting, funding applications, and the appointment of staff. Trustees are elected by members at the CDX Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Within the board, there are elected officers, who take up the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Personnel officer, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. Officers within the Board serve CDX on a voluntary basis for up to three years.
In addition to the Board of Trustees, CDX's direction is informed by Co-optees - stakeholders who are not elected but are invited to attend meetings and serve the organisation in an advisory capacity.
Currently CDX has three Sub Committees, who report to officers on the Board on the respective areas of Equalities, Personnel, and Finance.
Finally, there are two Working Groups serving CDX in the areas of Fundraising and the Strategic Framework for Community Development.
If you are interested in becoming involved in the management committee of CDX or if you have any related enquiries, please contact our Chair, Sue Shaw, at chair@cdx.org.uk
